Being well connected between the UK and Italian beverage business and productions, few years ago we felt that our mission, besides bringing the new Italian craft spirits and liqueur revolution to UK, could be also to bring something fine and interesting from UK to Italy. The London bartending scene is seen as one of the few places where tradition and innovation is brought on, and where many between the best bartenders and bars are developing new styles and type of proposals. We are lucky in saying that often there are Italian bartenders besides this scene, thanks to the high quality of hospitality ever learned. So, the connection between London and Italy is really strong in the hospitality industry: it’s natural that something produced here, with quality, passion , innovation or tradition, would sound really interesting to be brought to the Italian market. We started so to make a research on which products could be interesting and nice for the growing Italian bartending scene and made a new “book” of English stories, to be told to the Italians.

JENSEN'S GIN

When Mr. Christian Jensen started his trip towards gin, he didn’t know where all this would have brought him through. Born in Denmark, but London adopted citizen for a life, Christian has been always a fine cocktail drinker: after his daily work, he used to visit one of the best bars and have a sip or two from the best cocktail proposal. That’s why, when in Japan for work for some months, he discovered a 60’s bottle of Gordon’s gin and fell in love for the difference. Coming back to London, he studied on how a gin could be made and decided to make his own gin. Thanks to Mr. Charles Maxwell (Thames Distillery), he released his classic London Dry gin, traditionally produced with classic botanicals and methods. Later on, in 2013 he opens his own distillery in Bermondsey, the historical “London’s Larder”, for grains and cereals to be used for beer and gin, in the 18th century. Besides the London Dry, he makes also a classic Old Tom, from an original 1840 recipe, and some infused gins, to be found only at the distillery. We are bringing this fine traditional and beautiful story to Italy.

FREYA BIRCH SPIRITS


Innovative series of products, discovered and mastered by Mr. David Wallworth few years ago. Going forward between tradition and innovation, David discovered a newmake fine spirits, distilled from the birch sap. The birch sap is a traditional drink, extracted from the birch tree in the North-European countries and it was an old tradition to celebrate the goddess of fertility, passion and war, Freya, in the ancient Vikings heritage. So Freya Birch spirit was born. The company imports from Finland the birch sap when it’s possible to get it fresh, freeze it, to be used later and to maintain the original flavors and aromas in it, and later distills it in small batch pot-stills, to release a fine and elegant new spirit. It’s not a gin, it’s not a vodka, but you can use it, in every type of classic gin/vodka based cocktail. After this production, they released also the Freya Woodsmoke, inhalating the birch spirits with three different wood smoke, to have a smoky flavored spirit, and later on the Freya Birch Gin, re-distilling the birch spirit with juniper and other botanicals, to have a very special gin.
